Fiscal Year 2026 06XX and 28XX Occupational Field Course Registration Process
This MARADMIN announces the FY2026 course registration process for 06XX (Communications) and 28XX (Electronics Maintenance) occupational field training courses. Marines must submit enrollment requests through designated email addresses with registration deadlines of 21 days (Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force courses) or 45 days (Army courses) prior to course start dates.

1. This is a Communication Training Battalion, Marine Corps Communications Electronics School, and Information Command, Control, Communications, Computers (IC4) coordinated message. 2. Purpose. This message announces changes to 06XX and 28XX Occupational Field (OCCFLD) course registrations for FY26 Marine Corps Skills and Career Progression Training Seats. All 06XX and 28XX courses and class schedules can be viewed in Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS) under the student registrar module. 3. Leaders at all levels should reinforce the requirement of attending these courses and their effect on promotion and career advancement. Participation in these skill progression and career level courses are critical to retaining funding for these curriculum and affords our Marines the opportunity to master 2000 level events as depicted in the training and readiness manuals. 4. Registration process. The registration process has not changed for this fiscal year (FY). Marine Corps Forces Pacific and Marine Corps Forces, Command have been delegated the authority to enroll students into local communications training center courses. Those registration requests will be submitted through the unit training section to either smb.marforpac.formal@usmc.mil or omb.marforcom.formal@usmc.mil. submit all 06xx requests for enrollment via email to smb_ic4_06occfld_trng_req@usmc.mil. 28XX Maintenance Officers and Chiefs are requested to submit seat requests to the C4 POC via e-mail to email: ryan.t.moore@usmc.mil and vani.batta.civ@usmc.mil. All e-mails must be encrypted using public key infrastructure authentication via the common access card. E-mail containing personally identifiable information must be marked "CUI". At a minimum, training enrollment requests must include the following information in the body of the email, emails with attachments will not be processed. 4.a. Course Identification Code (CID): 4.b. Class Id: 4.c. EDIPI: 4.d. Full name (last, first, mi): 4.e. Communications Chief, Maintenance Chief or Staff Non-Commissioned Officer in charge name and email. 5. Course details can be found in MCTIMS. MICTIMS is the authoritative source for all enrollment details. Local Trackers, Applications, etc. are not considered valid sources of enrollment data and any discrepancies will be settled by referencing the details in MCTIMS. 6. The request deadline for registration of Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force courses is 21 days prior to the report date. the deadline for registration of army courses is 45 days prior to the report date. 7. Funding. All students are required to possess a Government Travel Charge Card. Once a student is registered in mctims, and funding is approved, the funding letter will be available from the class roster. It is the individual unit responsibility to fund travel expenses for students not co-located with a CTC. 7.a. Go to https://mctims.usmc.mil/. 7.b. Hover over MCTIMS (top left-hand corner) and select student registrar module. 7.c. In student registrar search insert course ID or course title and click search (e.g M09DRX1 or MAGTF Communications Planner). 7.d. In the class list tab, find the correct class number (class 2026010). 7.e. Click down arrow and select view allocations. 7.f. Click class roster (bottom of the page). 7.g. Locate student name. 7.h. Check the funding status, ensure it states approved. If the column is blank or pending, contact IC4. 7.i. Click the down arrow and select generate funding letter. 8. Marines that possess the rank (and selectees) identified in the course prerequisites will have priority for course allocations up to 90 days prior to the requested course convene date. Within 90 days of the course convene date, Marines that do not meet the rank prerequisite will be enrolled and will not lose a seat if the course is later filled and has a wait list. 8.c. If a wait list is required, Marines will be added to the wait list in the following priority. 8.c.1. Marines scheduled to deploy. 8.c.2. Marines returning from a special duty assignment. 8.c.3. Marines expected to be in zone for promotion to Gunnery Sergeant within the FY of the course ending. 8.c.4. All other Marines will be placed on the wait list in a first come first served manner. 8.d. Course cancellation requests within 30 days of course convene date, the request must come from the Communications/Maintenance Chief or Senior Enlisted advisor of the Marine requesting cancellation to the 06XX or 28XX OCCFLD via the SMB listed in paragraph (4). 9. IC4 recommends that all Marines obtain a MCTIMS account to monitor registrations and any changes to the published schedule. 10. Marines with an expiration of active service within 12 months of the completion of any course they are requesting enrollment in must submit a letter of intent to reenlist for their enrollment request to be processed. 11.
