Update to FY21 Ground Combat Element Commanders Course

1.  Situation.  The Ground Combat Element Commanders Course (GCECC) 1-21 was cancelled due to COVID.  In order to provide slated GCE O5 and O6 Commanders with sufficient opportunity to attend the GCECC, two courses will be offered in the Spring of 2021.  Additionally, the course was modified to increase exposure to operations in the information environment. 
2.  Mission.  Execute an operationally focused command preparation course to better ready GCE Commanders to lead, train, and tactically employ their battalions and regiments across all domains in the context of maneuver warfare.

3.a.  Commanders Intent.  No Change.
3.a.1. End state. No change.
3.b.  Concept of Operations.  Marine Coprs Tactics and Operations Group (MCTOG) will conduct both courses at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center twice during the spring of 2021 IOT afford the opportunity for all FY21 slated GCE O-5 and O-6 Commanders to attend prior to or within the first six months of assuming command.
3.c.  Coordinating Instructions.
3.c.1. Eligibility. No change.
3.c.2. FY21 Course dates.
3.c.2.a. MCTOG will execute the first GCE Commanders Course 2-21  from 9-12 March 2021, with travel days of 8 and 13 March.
3.c.2b.  MCTOG will execute the second GCE Commanders course 3-21 from 20-23 April 2021, with travel days of 19 and 24 April.
3.c.3. Registration.  Will be hosted by MCTOG via email to MCTOG's POC noted in this message.
3.c.3.a. Registration deadline for the GCE Commanders Course 2-21 is 29 January 2021.  MCTOG will publish a detailed GCE Commanders Course 2-21 message via Marine Net that outlines the schedule, administrative and logistics ISO the course NLT 19 February 2021.
3.c.3.b. Registration deadline for the GCE Commanders Course 3-21 is 19 February 2021.  MCTOG will publish a detailed GCE Commanders Course 3-19 message via Marine Net that outlines the schedule, administrative and logistics ISO the course NLT 2 APRIL 2021.
4.  Administration and Logistics
4.a.  Minimum Clearance is secret.  Send clearance info via JPAS through your local security manager to SMO Code: M30016;

4.c.  Travel.  Departure flights should be scheduled for the day
after the last scheduled training event supported.
