Call for Participation in the Career Communications Group Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA), Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Global Competitiveness Conference

This MARADMIN announces the Career Communications Group Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) STEM Global Competitiveness Conference to be held 9-11 February 2017 in Washington, DC. CMC (MPE) will sponsor thirty-four service members from the National Capital Region by funding their conference/registration fees only, offering professional development and networking opportunities in STEM fields.

1.  The Career Communications Group, a non-federal entity, hosts the BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference annually.  The conference will be held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, 2660 Woodley Road, NW, Washington, DC 20008 from 9-11 February 2017.  This conference offers attendees professional development opportunities and participation in a host of STEM related training sessions, and the opportunity to network.  Subject to conference approval, CMC (MPE) will fund attendance within a limited scope.  CMC (MPE) will sponsor thirty-four service members from the local area (NCR) by funding their conference/registration fees only.  Attendance to this professional development opportunity is not exclusive to any race, gender, grade, or military occupational specialty.<br>
2.  All Marine Corps funded participation will be coordinated through the Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management (MPE) Branch.  For additional information concerning scheduled events at the conference, visit the conference website at www.beya.org.<br>
3.  The uniform for the Stars and Stripes Dinner will be Dress Blue Bravos.  The uniform for all other events will be Dress Blue Charlies.<br>

5.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.<br>
