FY09-13 Training Input Plan Conference
This MARADMIN announces the FY09-13 Training Input Plan (TIP) Conference to be held March 19-23, 2007, at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. The conference will solicit and validate training quota requirements from various Marine Corps commands and occupational field managers to develop a comprehensive training plan for fiscal years 2009-2013. Sponsors must confirm attendance by February 16, 2007.

1. TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND WILL SPONSOR THE FY09-13 TRAINING INPUT PLAN (TIP) CONFERENCE. THE CONFERENCE WILL BE CONDUCTED BY FORMAL SCHOOLS TRAINING BRANCH (C4611) FROM MONDAY, 19 MARCH 2007 TO FRIDAY, 23 MARCH 2007 IN THE LIVERSEDGE HALL CONFERENCE ROOM, MARINE CORPS BASE, QUANTICO, VIRGINIA. 2. BACKGROUND. PER REFS (A) AND (B), FORMAL SCHOOLS TRAINING BRANCH ANNUALLY SOLICITS TRAINING QUOTA REQUIREMENTS FROM MANPOWER AND RESERVE AFFAIRS, MARINE CORPS RECRUITING COMMAND, MARCORSYSCOM, MARINE CORPS COMBAT DEVELOPMENT COMMAND, OCCUPATIONAL FIELD MANAGERS AS DEFINED IN REF (C), AND MARINE FORCES RESERVE. THIS INFORMATION IS COMPILED INTO THE TIP, DISSEMINATED, AND USED AS A PLANNING TOOL FOR THOSE ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PLAN, PROGRAM, RESOURCE, AND SCHEDULE TRAINING CAPACITY TO MEET THE MARINE CORPS' FORMAL SCHOOLS TRAINING REQUIREMENTS. 3. FACE TO FACE COORDINATION BETWEEN TECOM C4611 (FORMAL SCHOOLS TRAINING BRANCH) AND REQUIREMENT SPONSORS, IN ADDITION TO IMMEDIATE COMPARISON OF SUBMITTED REQUIREMENTS WITH HISTORIC THROUGHPUT IN THE MARINE CORPS TRAINING INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM(MCTIMS), MAKE THE CONFERENCE VITAL TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN ACCURATE TIP. 4. CONFERENCE AGENDA. SOLICIT COURSE REQUIREMENTS BY SPONSORS. SPONSORS NEED TO BE PRESENT AT THE START OF THEIR DESIGNATED DAY AS THE AMOUNT OF TIME NEEDED TO CAPTURE REQUIREMENTS VARIES BY SPONSOR. COURSES WILL BE CATEGORIZED IN THE FOLLOWING FOUR CATEGORIES: READINESS; DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT; SAFETY; AND SKILL PROGRESSION. IT IS RECOGNIZED THAT COURSES MAY FALL INTO MULTIPLE CATEGORIES, EACH COURSE MUST BE PLACED IN THE MOST APPROPRIATE CATEGORY. WITHIN THESE CATEGORIES, COURSES WILL BE PRIORITIZED ONE THROUGH FOUR (ONE BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT). OF THE COURSES PRIORITIZED, ONLY 20 PERCENT MAY BE LISTED AS PRIORITY ONE. THE REMAINING COURSES WILL BE SPREAD AMONG PRIORITIES TWO THROUGH FOUR. B. OFFICER AND ENLISTED ENTRY LEVEL PIPELINE COURSES ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THIS ACTION. C.
