Defect and Replacement Guidance for the All-Weather Coat (AWC)
This MARADMIN addresses a manufacturing defect in the All-Weather Coat (AWC) that causes an orange-colored substance to bleed from the fabric when exposed to water, creating an unprofessional appearance. Effective immediately, all sales and initial issue of the AWC are suspended, and Marine Corps Recruit Depots must de-issue affected coats and document the action in Marines' service records. Additional guidance on surveying and replacing defective coats will be published via SEPCOR once the specific defective contract and lot numbers are identified by DLA.
