Call for Participation in the Association of Naval Services Officers Conference
This MARADMIN announces the Association of Naval Services Officers (ANSO) Conference scheduled for March 2-3, 2020, in Houston, Texas. The conference supports Hispanic workforce recruitment and retention efforts, and Headquarters Marine Corps will sponsor a limited number of registration fees and travel expenses for attendees on a first-come, first-served basis. Marines interested in attending should submit their information through their officer-in-charge to the designated points of contact.

1. The Association of Naval Services Officers (ANSO) Conference will be held 2 - 3 March 2020 at Sector Houston-Galveston, 13411 Hillard St, Houston, TX 77034. The Headquarters Marine Corps Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch (MPE) will sponsor a limited number of conference registration fees and all travel expenses. 2. The ANSO Conference is a two day event that supports the Sea Service Chiefs' efforts in Hispanic workforce recruitment and retention. ANSO fosters the personal growth and professional development of officers and enlisted personnel. They provide mentorship, networking, training, and educational opportunities; and engage the Hispanic community through outreach initiatives. The ANSO is a non-federal entity wholly independent of the Marine Corps. More information can be found on their website at https://www.ansomil.org/ 3. Commanders may authorize Temporary Additional Duty for Marines, civilian Marines, and Sailors who are attached to their unit. Local travel is authorized for members in the local area. All Marine Corps funded participation will be coordinated through the MPE Branch. Reservations will be given on a first-come first-served basis. Rental cars are not authorized. Commands are not authorized to use command funding for rental cars. 4. Uniform of the day for Marine attendees: Dress Blue D. 5.
