Call for Participation in the Women in Aviation International Conference
This MARADMIN announces the Women in Aviation International Conference taking place 21-23 March 2024 in Orlando, Florida, and calls for Marine Corps participation. Headquarters Marine Corps will sponsor registration fees and travel expenses for five attendees, with requests due by 15 February 2024. The event is open to all Marines, Sailors, and Civilian Marines regardless of rank or status.

1. The Women in Aviation International (WAI) Conference will be held 21-23 March 2024 at the Orlando World Center Resort and Convention Center, 8701 World Center Drive, Orlando, Florida 32821.<br> 2. The Women in Aviation International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the encouragement and advancement of women in all aviation and aerospace career fields and interests. Their diverse membership includes astronauts, corporate pilots, maintenance technicians, air traffic controllers, business owners, educators, journalists, flight attendants, high school and university students, air show performers, airport managers, and many others.<br> 3. During the conference, attendees will benefit from candid and insightful discussions, with peers and senior departmental/service leaders. Additionally, this event offers mutually beneficial educational opportunities providing participants and the service with a greater understanding of how to capitalize on the differences and strengths within our Corps.<br> 4. Headquarters United States Marine Corps, Manpower Plans and Policy Division (MP) will sponsor 5 conference registration fees and travel expenses for this event. MP Division will fund travel for five days with the authorized travel days being 20 March and 24 March 2024. Lodging reimbursement is limited to the government rate and the traveler must utilize the integrated lodging program as applicable. Commands may authorize rental cars using unit funds. Marines must go through their chain of command for authorization to participate.<br> 5. Attendees require authorization from their immediate supervisor to be considered for MP Division participation approval.<br> 6. Reserve Marines within the selected reserve will require approval from the first O5 commander in their chain of command to be considered for participation approval.<br> 7. Outreach events are open to all Marines, Sailors, and Civilian Marines regardless of rank, race, ethnicity, gender, or status. Requests to attend this event should be emailed to the branch mailbox MPE_Outreach@usmc.mil via the individual's Officer-in-Charge, including the following information: name, rank, unit, EDIPI, email, DTS organization, and duty station. Requests must be submitted no later than (NLT) 15 February 2024. Requests received after the NLT date will not be facilitated. Attendees must have a government travel charge card in their possession and a Defense Travel System profile joined to their respective unit.<br> 8. Uniform of the day for this event is Service "B" for Marines, service equivalent for Sailors, and business casual for Civilian Marines.<br> 9. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.<br> 10. Release authorized by Lieutenant General James F. Glynn, Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
