1. Enterprise Mobile Manager (EMM) is the Marine Corps' system of systems that is comprised of our mobile endpoint management and application management interface, handling the integration of Mobile Computing devices (Android/iOS). The USMC has spent the past two years reviewing and evaluating different EMMs and has determined the solution that will be our next generation (EMMv4) platform. This modernization from the legacy EMMv3 to EMMv4 will require all devices to be re-enrolled and all Mobile Systems Admins (MSAs) to receive updated training. 2. Device Migration 2.a. All mobile devices currently enrolled in the legacy EMMv3 system will require migration to EMMv4 NLT 1 Sept 2023. G6/S6 are required to prepare and implement migration IOT meet the deadline. This will require reviews of scheduling, attrition, seasonal cycling, contract cycles, and other elements required to optimize and efficiently migrate all users. G6/S6s will determine the execution plan required for their units to meet the deadline. 2.b. Currently supported devices will be permitted to migrate. The approved device list location shall be published in a forthcoming Operational Directive (OPDIR). Devices nearing the end of their support lifecycle will not be permitted to migrate (e.g., Android Samsung S9 series and older, Apple iPhone 8 and X models and older). 2.c. Commands are reminded it is not recommended to fully invest in exclusively Apple devices. Only Android devices (Samsung or Pixel lines) may be configured as Duty/Shared devices; as well, use of Samsung DeX (Samsung exclusive) as a potential desktop replacement is an additional consideration. 2. d. Additional technical execution instructions will be released in a follow on OPDIR released by Marine Corps Cyberspace Operation Group (MCCOG). The OPDIR will contain all links and instructions required to plan and execute training and migration. 3. Mobile Systems Administrator (MSA) Training 3.a. Legacy EMMv3 training will continue to be offered online and will be provided for new MSAs who require legacy system access prior to full migration. 3.b. MSAs will be required to certify in EMMv4 administration prior to their unit migration. MCCOG lead EMMv4 training information will be published in the forthcoming OPDIR. 4.
