Calendar Year 2022 Marine Corps Ammunition Awards Program (MCAAP) Recipients

This MARADMIN announces the recipients of the Calendar Year 2022 Marine Corps Ammunition Awards Program (MCAAP) across six categories, recognizing outstanding ammunition personnel from active duty and reserve components. The awards board reviewed 47 nominees and selected winners who will be honored at a reception in Alexandria, Virginia on June 1, 2023.

1.  The Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Commander, Marine Corps Systems Command congratulates the following individuals for their selection as the recipients of the Calendar Year 2022 Marine Corps Ammunition Awards Program for the categories as indicated.  As specified in reference (b), an annual awards board was convened to review nominations throughout the Marine Corps and select award recipients.  This year, there was a total of 47 nominees across all categories.
2.  The recipients are indicated by listing the award, recipient, and nominating command.
2.a.  The Ammunition Officer of the Year Award recipient is Chief Warrant Officer 2 Antonio J. Milord, Logistics Group Western Pacific/Task Force 73.
2.b.  The Ammunition Staff Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Award recipient is Gunnery Sergeant Michael A. Covey, 1st Supply Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group.
2.c.  The Ammunition Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year Award recipient is Sergeant Reuben R. Robins Jr., 3d Supply Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group.
2.d.  The Ammunition Technician of the Year Award recipient is Corporal Conner N. Allam, 3d Supply Battalion, 3d Marine Logistics Group.
2.e.  The Selected Marine Corps Reserve Ammunition Officer of the Year Award recipient is Chief Warrant Officer 3 Christopher M. Gish Combat Logistics Battalion 453, Combat Logistics Regiment 4, 4th Marine Logistics Group.
2.f.  The Selected Marine Corps Reserve Ammunition Technician of the Year Award recipient is Sergeant Joseph D. Sigler, Combat Logistics Battalion 451, Combat Logistics Regiment 45, 4th Marine Logistics Group.
3.  The Marine Corps Association is the sponsor for this year's awards.  The recipients will be honored during an awards reception at the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia on 1 June 2023.  Travel details for award recipients will be sent via separate correspondence.
4.  This year's award selection process was challenging due to the highly competitive nominees for each category.  Commands are encouraged to continue to nominate ground ammunition personnel that they feel best represent their unit and the ammunition community.  It was apparent that all those nominated are deserving of our respect and special recognition.  Congratulations to all.
