Change to Composite Score Point Scale and Classification Scores for CFT and PFT

This MARADMIN announces changes to the composite score point scale and classification scores for the Combat Fitness Test (CFT) and Physical Fitness Test (PFT), effective for tests taken on or after 1 January 2017. The changes consolidate previously separate CFT and PFT conversion tables into a single combined conversion table that will be used for computing composite scores starting with April, May, and June 2017 promotions.

Issued: February 14, 2017
1. In accordance with reference (a), the following changes have been made to the composite score point scale and the classification scores for the Combat Fitness Test (CFT) and the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). These new scores and values affect the composite score and its conversion ratings must be adjusted appropriately. These changes will take effect for PFTs and CFTs taken on or after 1 January 2017.
2. The new composite score point scale will be linked in Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS) NLT 8 March 2017 and will take effect for the April, May and June 2017 composite scores that will be computed on 13 March 2017. The composite scores for the calendar year 2017 1st Quarter (January, February and March) promotions are not affected by this change. There were no PFT or CFT scores taken in 2017 that were used in the composite score computations since the cutoff date for all data elements was 20 November 2016.
3. There will no longer be separate conversion tables for the CFT and PFT. The new combined conversion table is listed below and will be incorporated in the next version of reference (b).
