FY07 West Coast Media Training Symposium
This MARADMIN announces the FY07 West Coast Commanders Media Training Symposium to be held April 16-20, 2007, at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton. The symposium will provide critical public affairs and media interview training to commanders and personnel requiring expert communications skills, with quotas assigned to various Marine Corps commands.

LOS ANGELES PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND MOBILE TRAINING UNIT-11 WILL HOST THE 2007 MARINE CORPS WEST COAST COMMANDERS MEDIA TRAINING SYMPOSIUM AT THE LOS ANGELES AIRPORT HILTON, 5711 CENTURY BLVD, LOS ANGELES, CA. FROM 16-20 APRIL 2007. 2. THE 2007 WEST COAST COMMANDERS MEDIA TRAINING SYMPOSIUM WILL PROVIDE CRITICAL PUBLIC AFFAIRS AND MEDIA INTERVIEW TRAINING TO COMMANDERS AND OTHERS WITH DUTIES THAT DEMAND EXPERT COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS. BRIEFINGS, EXERCISES AND GUEST SPEAKER PRESENTATIONS ARE SCHEDULED AS PART OF THIS TRAINING. 3. COMMANDERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO BRING THEIR PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICERS OR CHIEFS. QUOTA ASSIGNMENTS SHOULD BE USED AS GUIDELINES; MORE MAY BE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST. ASSIGNMENTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: MARFORPAC: 23; MARFORRES: 19; MCRC: 18; MARFORCOM: 4; AND MCCDC: 14. 4. PARTICIPATION IS UNIT FUNDED WITH GOVERNMENT CREDIT CARDS USED FOR OFFICIAL TRAVEL. RESERVE PERSONNEL SHOULD SUBMIT REQUEST FOR ORDERS THROUGH THEIR APPROPRIATE MSC CHAIN OF COMMAND AND OBTAIN QUOTA FROM MARFORRES PUBLIC AFFAIRS. NO DISBURSING OR TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE AT THE SITE. COMPLIMENTARY HILTON SHUTTLE SERVICE IS AVAILABLE FROM THE AIRPORT 24 HRS A DAY. TAXI RATE FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL IS APPROXIMATELY $10. A PORTION OF THE COURSE WILL REQUIRE INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION; THEREFORE, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT ATTENDEES FROM THE SAME COMMAND/GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION COORDINATE RENTAL CAR OR POV TRANSPORTATION.
