Blended Retirement System Roadshow

HQMC M&RA will conduct a Blended Retirement System (BRS) roadshow at Marine Corps installations from March 6 to April 7, 2017, to brief commanders and senior enlisted advisors on BRS implementation. The roadshow targets commanders, sergeants major, adjutants, command financial specialists, and career planners at locations including Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton, Twentynine Palms, Okinawa, Iwakuni, and Hawaii.

1.  Purpose.  Members from HQMC M&RA will visit installations and brief commands to provide commanders and senior enlisted advisors with information pertaining to the Blended Retirement System (BRS) and its implementation.<br>
2.  Background.  The Marine Corps is implementing the BRS in three phases:  Notification Phase (9 December 2016 – 1 March 2017), Training Phase (1 March 2017 – 31 December 2017), Election Phase (1 January 2018 – 31 December 2018).<br>
3.  The target audience for the below roadshow is: Commanders, SgtsMaj, Adjutants, Command Financial Specialists (CFS), and Career Planners.<br>

5.  Administration and Logistics.<br>
5.a.  Each session should run approximately 60-90 minutes.  Each location has multiple sessions to help accommodate attendance by the target audience.<br>
5.b.  Marine Corps Community Service (MCCS) personnel at the installations in paragraph four have secured briefing space with audio and visual equipment capable of supporting projection of PowerPoint format briefing slides.<br>
5.c.  The roadshow will not be visiting any Reserve component installations.  Reserve Commands are encouraged to attend the locations listed above.<br>
6.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force.<br>
