Cyberspace Operations Occupational Field (OCCFLD 17) FY20 Staff Noncommissioned Officer Lateral Move Suspension
This MARADMIN announces a temporary suspension of FY20 lateral move applications for active duty Staff Noncommissioned Officers (E-6 to E-9) into the Cyberspace Operations Occupational Field MOSs 1711, 1721, and 1799 due to appropriate manning levels being reached. The suspension does not apply to junior enlisted Marines (E-3 to E-5) applying for 2611 and 1721 MOSs, or to Reserve Force Marines applying for 1721 MOS.

1. In an effort to meet the goals set forth in the implementation guidance, manning levels within the Occupational Field are closely monitored. Currently, the 1711, 1721, and 1799 Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) have reached appropriate manning levels for the grades of E-6 to E-9. Therefore, there will be a temporary suspension in FY20 on lateral move applications for active duty staff noncommissioned officers (SNCOs) for the above mentioned MOSs. 2. SNCOs filling or previously certified in critical work roles (Access Operator, Exploitation Analyst, Interactive Operator, or Basic Operator) are encouraged to apply and will be considered on a case by case basis. 3. Lateral move packages will still be accepted for the 2611 and 1721 MOS for the ranks of E-3 to E-5. Interested Marines should continue to apply via the instructions in reference a. 4. This suspension does not apply to the Reserve Force. Reserve Marines interested in applying for lateral move to the 1721 MOS should continue to apply. 5.
