Change 1 to the Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19) Active Reserve Officer Retention Bonus (ARORB)
This MARADMIN announces changes to the Fiscal Year 2019 Active Reserve Officer Retention Bonus (ARORB), updating incentive amounts, adding eligible MOS/qualifications, and clarifying eligibility requirements. Officers selected on the FY19-1 or FY19-2 AR Officer Accession Board with specific aviation MOS and qualifications are eligible for a $20,000 lump sum payment. Applications must be received by 20 August 2019, with bonus approval required prior to 1 September 2019.

1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces a change to ref (A), the FY19 ARORB.<br>
2. Background. This change to the FY19 ARORB includes update to incentive amount, addition of eligible MOS/qualifications, and clarification to eligibility and administrative instructions. Other than changes outlined in paragraph 3, all authorities directed in ref (A) remain in effect.<br>
3. Key elements of the FY19 ARORB change<br>
a. Officers selected on the FY19-1 or FY19-2 AR Officer Accession Board with the following MOS/qualifications are eligible for a lump sum payment in the amount of 20,000 dollars:<br>

b. Eligibility requirements<br>
(1) Officers must meet the MOS/qualification requirements in paragraph 3a. MOS/qualification requirement must be verified as current in accordance with NATOPs standards and certified via standard naval letter from the Commanding Officer when applying for the bonus.<br>
(2) Must be assigned to a valid AR aviation (75XX) BIC to be eligible for the bonus.<br>
(3) Must access to the AR between 1 October 2018 and 20 August 2019.<br>
(4) Must have no more than three years TIG.<br>
c. Administrative guidance<br>
(1) FY19 new accession officers must be joined to the AR program and assigned to a valid AR aviation (75XX) BIC prior to submitting an incentive request. FY19 new accession officers must provide Commanding Officer certification via standard naval letter verifying MOS/qualification(s) as current in accordance with NATOPs standards with the TFRS request.<br>
(2) Requests must be received by RA no later than 20 August 2019. Officers must obtain RA bonus approval prior to 1 September 2019 and accept payment within 60 days or prior to 24 September 2019, whichever comes first.<br>
4. This MARADMIN cancels on 30 September 2019.<br>
