Adobe Flash Player End of Life Notice and Impact Assessment
This MARADMIN notifies the Marine Corps Enterprise that Adobe Flash Player will reach end of life and will no longer be supported effective 31 December 2020. All Marine Corps applications and systems currently using Flash content must discontinue its use and migrate to HTML5 as a replacement as soon as possible, but no later than December 2020.

1. This message informs the Marine Corps Enterprise that Adobe Flash will no longer be supported per references (a) and (b) effective 31 December 2020. 2. Adobe Flash is a multimedia software platform used by developers to produce digital animations, 2D/3D graphics, simulations, and streaming audio and video. This digital content is then made available for on-line viewing in a browser via the flash player plug-in. Flash is currently used throughout the Marine Corps in applications and systems, such as on-line training courses, technical and repair manuals, and desktop applications. 3. Adobe has announced flash player end of life is 31 December 2020. In their official public announcement, adobe stated that in collaboration with their technology partners, they would stop updating and distributing the flash player and encourage content creators to migrate any existing flash content to new open formats. As a result, Microsoft, Google and Mozilla announced that flash player plug-in will be disabled by default in their browsers. HQMC DCI/IC4 directs those applications and systems using flash content shall discontinue its use and migrate to HTML5 as a replacement as soon as possible, and no later than December 2020. 4.
