Financial Support of Family Members
This MARADMIN establishes interim financial support standards for Marines' family members following the cancellation of previous guidance. Marines must provide adequate support to dependent family members based on a pro-rata share of their Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) or Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA), with failure to comply potentially resulting in administrative or disciplinary action including nonjudicial punishment, court-martial, or administrative separation.

1. Ref A cancelled Ref B which included chapter 15, Financial Support of Family Members. A volume of Ref A containing financial support of family member guidelines is forthcoming. In the interim the following applies.<br> 2. Marines who fail to provide adequate support for their dependentfamily members in accordance with a lawful order or who fail to comply with the terms of a written support agreement signed by both parties, civil court orders, decrees, or judgments issued or recognized by a United States court concerning family support, may be subject to administrative or disciplinary action, which can include nonjudicial punishment, the initiation of court-martial proceedings and/or administrative separation proceedings.<br> 3. Absent a written support agreement signed by both parties or court order, and conditioned upon a complaint of nonsupport made by or on behalf of the nonsupported party to a commanding officer, the support standards set forth in this MARADMIN shall be enforced as interim measures.<br> 4. Each family member entitled to support shall receive, at a minimum, a pro-rata share of the applicable BAH/OHA to which the Marine is entitled, as reflected below.<br> A. One family member entitled to support (not including the Marine), one half share of monthly BAH/OHA per requesting family member.<br> B. Two family members entitled to support (not including the Marine), one third share of monthly BAH/OHA per requesting family member.<br> C. Three family members entitled to support (not including the Marine), one quarter share of monthly BAH/OHA per requesting family member.<br> D. Four family members entitled to support (not including the Marine), one fifth share of monthly BAH/OHA per requesting family member.<br> E. Five family members entitled to support (not including the Marine), one sixth share of monthly BAH/OHA per requesting family member.<br> F. Six family members or more entitled to support (not including the Marine), one seventh share of monthly BAH/OHA per requesting Family member.<br> 5. Poc.
