Forthcoming Change to Policy: Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program Appointing Authorities

This MARADMIN announces a forthcoming policy change to MCO 1752.5C regarding appointing authorities for Sexual Assault Response Coordinators. The change will allow General Officers/Flag Officers and General Courts-Martial Convening Authorities to designate appointees in writing, aligning Marine Corps policy with DoD guidance on the Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program.

1.  This MARADMIN announces forthcoming change to policy in reference (a) which will adjust requirements regarding appointing authorities for Sexual Assault Response Coordinators to align with guidance codified in reference (b).
2.  Reference (a), Chapter 3, paragraph 2. will be revised as follows:  "General Officers/Flag Officers (GO/FO) and General Courts-Martial Convening Authorities (GCMCA), or their appointed in writing designee shall:".
3.  This MARADMIN is applicable to all Active Duty Marines, members of the Selected Marine Corps Reserve, and Marines on Active Duty Operational Support Orders.
4.  Release authorized by Lieutenant General James F. Glynn, Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
