Release of MCO 1326.6 Selecting, Screening, and Preparing Enlisted Marines for Screenable Billets and Independent Duty Assignments (SCREENMAN)
This MARADMIN announces the release of MCO 1326.6, which updates the policies for selecting, screening, and preparing enlisted Marines for screenable billets and independent duty assignments (SCREENMAN). The order implements a new classification system for screenable billets, adds seven new chapters covering various duty assignments, and revises eligibility criteria and screening processes across all screenable positions.

1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces the release of reference (b) and the cancellation of reference (a). 2. Background. In September 2017, the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) directed the Marine Corps to transition to designated Special Duty Assignments (SDA): Recruiter, Drill Instructor, and Marine Security Guard Detachment Commander. Accordingly, reference (a) underwent a comprehensive re-write to reflect these changes. 3. Changes. This revision contains numerous changes throughout, reflecting current laws, regulations, and Marine Corps orders and policies. The major changes to the MCO are as follows: 3.a. Name change to "Selecting, Screening, and Preparing Enlisted Marines for Screenable Billets (Short Title: SCREENMAN)" 3.b. Implemented a classification system for screenable billets consisting of: 3.b.1. SDAs designated by CMC. 3.b.2. Type-1 assignments: screenable billets of high visibility or independent nature. 3.b.3. Type-2 assignments: special programs outside a Marines primary skills. 3.c. Added the following seven chapters: 3.c.1. Chapter 4 Marine Security Guard Detachment Commander Duty 3.c.2. Chapter 5 Marine Security Guard Watch Stander Duty 3.c.3. Chapter 8 Staff NonCommissioned Officer Academy Faculty Advisor and Curriculum Developer Duty 3.c.4. Chapter 9 Formal Schools Instructor Duty 3.c.5. Chapter 10 Inspector-Instructor and Independent Duty 3.c.6. Chapter 11 Assistant Marine Officer Instructor and Other Second Tour Drill Instructor Duty 3.c.7. Chapter 13 Other Screenable B-Billets 3.d. Revised the eligibility criteria and assignment process for all billets. 3.e. Removed the language stating the types and amounts of incentives for specific duties and instead provided reference to the appropriate policy that governs these incentives. 3.f. Implemented new screening checklist forms as NAVMCs. 3.g. Expanded guidelines for medical screening. 3.h. Modified tattoo requirements for assignability. 4.
