Availability of MCWP 2-21, Imagery Intelligence
This MARADMIN announces the publication and availability of Marine Corps Warfighting Publication (MCWP) 2-21, Imagery Intelligence, dated 29 February 2016. The publication establishes doctrine for planning and executing imagery intelligence support to Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) operations and is available for electronic download via the USMC doctrine website.

1. The Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration has published Marine Corps Warfighting Publication 2-21, Imagery Intelligence, dated 29 Feb 2016. MCWP 2-21 is available for download via the United States Marine Corps doctrine website at https:(slant)(slant)www.doctrine.usmc.mil.
2. Background
(a) Marine Corps Warfighting Publication 2-21, Imagery Intelligence, establishes the doctrinal basis for the planning and execution of imagery intelligence support to Marine air-ground task force (MAGTF) operations. This publication provides the philosophy of employing imagery intelligence activities throughout the MAGTF regardless of the unit type.
(b) This publication provides an overview of imagery intelligence and it is intended for Marines who are involved in the planning and execution of imagery intelligence support to operations and the development of unit specific imagery intelligence standing operating procedures (SOP). It should be integrated fully both with the SOP of the unit's imagery intelligence section and its overall SOP.
3. Coordinating Instructions. Reference (a) details steps required to request publication hard copies, however, this publication will be disseminated via electronic distribution only, unless commanders submit compelling needs justification for printed copies. Units requiring print allocations must follow procedures identified in reference (a), paragraph 4a(2). For Marine Corps Publication Distribution System (MCPDS) identification purposes, the publication control number is 143 000088 00.
