CY 2018 Kallstrom and Security-Emergency Services Civilian Award Recipients
This MARADMIN announces the recipients of the 2018 Jim Kallstrom Awards and Marine Corps Security and Emergency Services (S/ES) Civilian Awards, recognizing outstanding leadership, bravery, and lifesaving actions. The awardees include two Marines and two civilian personnel who will be formally recognized at ceremonies in April 2019 at MCB Quantico and Camp Smith, Hawaii.

1. Purpose. This message announces the recipients of the 2018 Jim Kallstrom Awards and the Marine Corps Security and Emergency Services (S/ES) Civilian Awards. 2. The following awardees should take pride in their selection for these awards, since it was based on their outstanding professional competence and exemplary leadership skills. 2.A. The Jim Kallstrom Award for outstanding leadership is awarded to Gunnery Sergeant Jarod E. Vedsted, 3d Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group. 2.B. The Jim Kallstrom Award for bravery is awarded to Sergeant Joshua D. Farrington, Provost Marshal Office, Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. 2.C. The S/ES Civilian Marine of the Year Award recipient is Mr. James A. Roberts, Antiterrorism Officer, Marine Forces Pacific, Camp Smith, Hawaii. 2.D. The S/ES Civilian Lifesaving Award is Officer Oscar L. Navarro, Provost Marshal Office, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Arizona. 3. Gunnery Sergeant Vedsted, Sergeant Farrington, and Officer Navarro will be recognized at the Marine Corps Police Forces Operational Advisory Group (MCPF OAG) conference, 1-5 April 2019 at MCB Quantico, Virginia. Mr. Roberts will be recognized by the Assistant Deputy Commandant, Plans, Policies, and Operations (Security) during the week of 15-19 April 2019 at Camp Smith, Hawaii. Winners and their command will be contacted via SEPCOR for coordinating instructions. 4. Release authorized by Mr. Randy R.
