Change 1 to MCO 1300.8 Marine Corps Personnel Assignment Policy
This MARADMIN promulgates Change 1 to MCO 1300.8, removing gender-based assignment restrictions for Marine Corps personnel assignments. The change implements unit assignment criteria for all non-ground combat arms MOS Marines to determine eligibility for assignment to load-bearing combat arms units, applicable to Active Component and Active Reserve program members.

1. This message promulgates changes to reference (a) regarding removal of gender-based assignment restrictions.
2. Pursuant to reference (b), changes to reference (a) are summarized below.
a. Chapter 1 (add paragraph 1o.). In accordance with reference (b), CMC (MMEA/MMOA/RAM) will apply unit assignment criteria to all non-ground combat arms military occupational specialty (MOS) Marines to determine eligibility for assignment to load-bearing combat arms units. Load-bearing combat arms units are infantry battalions and regiments, reconnaissance battalions, force reconnaissance companies, combat engineer/assault companies, and raider companies. This unit assignment criteria does not apply to site support personnel at Inspector-Instructor (I-I) units.
b. Chapter 4 is deleted in its entirety.
3. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Active Component and members of the Active Reserve program.
