2017 Winners of Major General W.P.T. Hill Memorial Awards for Food Service Excellence

This MARADMIN announces the 2017 winners of the Major General W.P.T. Hill Memorial Awards for Food Service Excellence. The awards recognize outstanding garrison and field food service operations across the Marine Corps. Winners include Mess Hall 4417 at Camp Courtney, Okinawa (Best Management and Mess Attendant), Mess Hall 227 at Camp Lejeune (Best Full Food Service), and II MEF Headquarters Group at Camp Lejeune (Best Field Mess).

1. The Major General W.P.T. Hill Memorial Awards competition encourages excellence in garrison and field food service. The competitive spirit fostered by the Major General W.P.T. Hill awards program contributes to improved food service excellence and increased quality of life for our Marines and Sailors. Commands participating in this year's competition are commended for their hard work and commitment to excellence.  
2.  It is a pleasure to announce the results of the 2017 Major General W.P.T. Hill Memorial Awards competition for Food Service Excellence (Active Duty). The Commandant extends congratulations to the following winning mess halls and field mess: 
2.A.  Best Management and Mess Attendant Mess Hall: Mess Hall 4417, Camp Courtney, MCIPAC-MCB Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan.  
2.B.  Best Full Food Service Mess Hall: Mess Hall 227, MCIEAST-MCB Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  
2.C.  Best Field Mess:  II MEF Headquarters Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. 
3.  Details on Command recognition and trophy shipment to winning commands will be provided via separate correspondence.
