Fiscal Year 2021 Active Component Manpower Cross-FY Extensions
This MARADMIN announces a Fiscal Year 2021 retention plan allowing eligible First Term Marines in specific MOSs with an EAS in FY21 to apply for 24-month extensions to meet future manpower needs. Marines in certain MOSs are eligible for prorated Selective Retention Bonuses (SRB) based on their bonus zone and rank in exchange for the extension.

1. PURPOSE. This MARADMIN announces the Manpower and Reserve Affairs (MRA) plan for active component cross-FY extensions to support future manpower inventory requirements.<br> 2. BACKGROUND. In response to future manpower changes, MRA has developed a short term retention plan that allows First Term Marines the opportunity to extend their service in order to fulfill the manpower needs of the Marine Corps. Marines extending their service will be authorized to submit for reenlistment following the extension utilizing all resources of the Marine Corps. Eligible FY21 First Term Marines are still encouraged to seek reenlistment if boatspaces remain in their Primary MOS.<br> 3. Concept of Operations.<br> 3.A. Targeted First Term Marines with an EAS in FY21 are eligible to apply for a 24 month extension. Eligible first term MOSs identified above that rate a Selective Retention Bonus (SRB) as outlined in reference (A), reference (B), and reference (C) are eligible for a prorated SRB amount based on bonus zone in exchange for a 24 month extension. Details on calculating the prorated SRB amount are found in reference (E). Limited quotas exist for MOSs listed in paragraph 3.A and eligible Marines are encouraged to submit early.<br> 3.A.1.a.
