Clarification to Increased Meritorious Promotions for Active Duty Sergeants
This MARADMIN clarifies the increased meritorious promotion allocations for active duty sergeants announced in MARADMIN 128/21. Commands will calculate quarterly meritorious promotion allocations based on the number of corporals on board on the first day of each fiscal quarter (October, January, April, July) and may effect promotions on the second day of the following months (November, February, May, August).

1. This Marine Administrative Message (MARADMIN) serves as clarification to references (a) and (b). 2. Per reference (b), active component meritorious promotion allocations to sergeant is increased. 2.a. Per reference (a), commands will calculate the number of allocations for meritorious promotions to sergeant based on the number of corporals on board on the 1st day of the fiscal quarter (October, January, April, and July). 2.b. Per reference (a), commands are authorized to effect the quarterly meritorious promotions, based on the calculations outlined above, on the 2nd day of November, February, May, and August. 3.
