Air Traffic Control Facility Classification and MOS Issuance Authority

This MARADMIN updates Air Traffic Control facility classifications and establishes MOS issuance authority for Marine Corps ATC facilities worldwide. It specifies which facilities can award MOS 7252, 7253, and 7254 based on facility class, includes provisions for MOS equivalency at U.S. Air Force bases in Korea and Japan, and allows retroactive MOS awards for Marines who earned qualifications at DoD or FAA facilities.

1.  This message supersedes any previous Air Traffic Control Facility classification and MOS issuance authority message traffic. References (a) through (c) provide updated guidance to facility classifications and MOS approval authorities due to changes in airspace and operating requirements.<br>
2.  The following facilities are classified in accordance with reference (a) and (b) are authorized to award the associated MOS listed.<br>

3.  The listed U.S. Air Force air traffic control facilities have been evaluated for MOS equivalency. Marines who attain qualifications at the following locations shall be awarded the associated mos. this paragraph applies retroactively.<br>
3.a.  Osan AB Korea<br>
       (1) 7253: Upon completion of Osan arrival<br>
       (2) 7254: Upon completion of Osan approach<br>
3.b.  Kunsan AB Korea<br>
       (1) 7253: Upon completion of Kunsan arrival<br>
       (2) 7254: Upon completion of Kunsan approach<br>
3.c.  Yokota AB Japan<br>
       (1) 7253: Upon completion of Yokota arrival<br>
       (2) 7254: Upon completion of Yokota approach<br>
4.  Any Marine who earns a local control qualification and is awarded with the certified control tower credential at any Department of Defense or Federal Aviation Administration Facility shall be awarded the 7252 NMOS per reference (e).  This paragraph applies retroactively.<br>
5.  This is a coordinated Deputy Commandant for Aviation (DCA), Commander Marine Corps Installations Command message.<br>
6.  Command and Signal<br>
6.a.  Command.  Applicable to the Total Force.<br>
6.b.  Signal. This order is effective on the date signed.<br>
