Supplemental Guidance Concerning Active Reserve Program Transitions

1.  Purpose.  To promulgate clarifying guidance on Active Reserve (AR) Program transitions.<br>
2.  Background.  The AR Program provides a cadre of well-trained and experienced Reserve Component (RC) Marines to serve as a critical element of the Marine Corps full-time support to the RC, as required by reference (a) and IAW with reference (b).<br>
3.  Clarifying Guidance<br>
    a.  Personnel transitioning (officers and enlisted) to the AR program shall be considered a service determined mission essential category as it relates to Manpower Management execution IAW reference (c).  Reserve Affairs will continue to transition/access officers and enlisted personnel to the AR program.<br>
    b.  Reserve Affairs (RAM-1) is responsible for processing and issuing AR enlisted transition/accession orders.  All AR enlisted transition/accession orders questions or concerns should be directed to the POC of this MARADMIN.<br>
    c.  Reserve Affairs (RAM-2), is responsible for issuing transition/accession orders to officers.  All AR officer transition/accession orders questions or concerns should be directed to the POC of this MARADMIN.<br>
4.  This MARADMIN is applicable to the Total Force.<br>
