United States Marine Corps Ammunition Awards Program (MCAAP) 2019 Recipients

This MARADMIN announces the 2019 Marine Corps Ammunition Awards Program (MCAAP) recipients across four categories: Ammunition Officer, Staff NCO, NCO, and Technician of the Year. The awards recognize outstanding performance in the ammunition community, with recipients to be honored at a Marine Corps Association and Foundation reception at a date and location to be determined due to COVID-19.

1. The Commandant of the Marine Corps congratulates the following individuals for their selection as the recipients of the 2019 United States Marine Corps Ammunition Awards Program for the categories as indicated.  As specified in reference B, and annual awards board was convened to review nominations from throughout the Marine Corps and select award recipients.
2.  The recipients are indicated by listing the award, recipient, and nominating command.
2.A.  Ammunition Officer of the Year award recipient is Captain Vicente Fregoso, 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15,
1st Marine Logisitics Group.
2.B.  Ammunition Technician Staff Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year award recipient is Gunnery Sergeant Anthony J. Ward, Logistics Combat Element, Capabilities Development Directorate, Combat Development and Integration.
2.C.  Ammunition Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year award recipient is Sergeant Chandler W. Mills, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe and Africa.
2.D.  Ammunition Technician of the Year is Lance Corporal Johnny D. Rodriguez, 1st Supply Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 15, 1st Marine Logistics Group.
3.  The Marine Corps Association and Foundation (MCA) is sponsoring this year's award reception where the recipients will be honored.  Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the date and location will be published at a later time.
4.  This year's award selection process was challenging due to the highly competitive nominees for each category.  Commands are encouraged to continue to nominate individuals that they feel best represent the ammunition community.  It was apparent that all those nominated are deserving of our respect and special recognition.  Congratulations to all nominees.
