Marine Corps Recipients of 2016 Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of Defense Environmental Awards

This MARADMIN announces the Marine Corps recipients of the 2016 Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of Defense Environmental Awards. MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, CA and MCSF Blount Island, FL received multiple awards recognizing their outstanding environmental management programs in areas including natural resources, environmental quality, sustainability, and cultural resources management.

1.  Marine Corps Installations continue to support the warfighting mission through outstanding environmental management. The Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of Defense Awards represent the strength of those individual installations environmental programs and also the contributions of all Marines (uniformed and civilian) and family members.  Protecting natural and cultural resources, identifying sustainability initiatives, planning for future requirements, and continued installation restoration efforts all aid in preserving our ability to train, live, and work on the lands entrusted to us.<br>
