FY 17 Critical Skills Retention Bonus (CSRB) Update
This MARADMIN updates the FY17 Critical Skills Retention Bonus (CSRB) program, reinstating it through September 30, 2017. The update modifies eligibility requirements to target Marines with 20-28 years of service permanently assigned to PMOS 0372 billets, with authority contingent on available funding.
Issued: May 24, 2017
1. Purpose. This MarAdmin provides an update to ref (a) to conform to ref (b). All CSRB agreements are subject to service limitations and reenlistment policies set forth in references (c) through (e). 2. Background. The CSRB is used as a retention incentive to meet manpower requirements in critical skills designated by the Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. 3. Effective immediately, ref (a) is hereby reinstated through 30 September 2017, but it may be superseded by a revised CSRB plan prior to that date. All other provisions in ref (a) remain in effect. However, one CSRB eligibility requirement has changed from those listed in paragraph 2 of ref (a). Eligible Marines must have between 20 and 28 years of service (YOS) and be permanently assigned to a Primary Military Occupational Specialty (PMOS) 0372 billet. 4. Authority to reenlist with a CSRB is contingent upon available funding. Therefore, authority to reenlist with a CSRB may be suspended by this Headquarters without advance notice. All other reenlistments executed in the fiscal year will not be authorized a CSRB. 5. This message is not applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve. 6. This message cancels NLT 30 September 2017. 7. Release authorized by SES M. R. Strobl, Division Director, Manpower Plans and Policy, Acting.
