Termination of Travel Alternate Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Processing

This MARADMIN announces the termination of the alternate Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) account option for travel claim payments. Effective immediately, all travel payments for Marines will be made to their regular direct deposit account in MCTFS, as the alternate EFT option was used by only 1% of travelers in FY20 and is no longer cost-effective.

Issued: May 11, 2021
1. The option for a traveler to use an alternate EFT account has been terminated. All travel claim payments will be made to the traveler's regular direct deposit information in the Marine Corps Total Force System (MCTFS).
2. Background. Previously, a traveler could establish an alternate EFT account in myPay for all travel claim payments. A review of MCTFS alternate EFT account information revealed that only 1% of the travel payments made in FY20 were paid to an alternate EFT account. This extremely low utilization rate no longer makes this option a cost effective alternative.
3. Action.
3.a. myPay no longer provides the ability for travelers to establish or change an alternate EFT account. Only changes to the current pay day direct deposit information in MCTFS can be changed in myPay.
3.b. Previously established alternate EFT accounts in MCTFS have been removed as a payment option and all future travel payments will be directed to your pay day direct deposit account.
3.c. All travel claims paid in the Integrated Automated Travel System (IATS) for active and reserve Marines will utilize the current direct deposit information from MCTFS. Civilians, dependents, and International Military Students (IMS) are the only authorized travelers who can have an EFT account manually added to IATS.
4. This MARADMIN will remain active until 31 December 2021at which time it is considered cancelled.
5. Released authorized by LtGen John M. Jansen, DC P&R.
