2005 USMC Public Affairs Leader's Conference
The Division of Public Affairs will host the 2005 Marine Corps Public Affairs Leaders Conference at the Circus-Circus Hotel in Reno, Nevada from August 23-26, 2005, coinciding with the annual U.S. Marine Corps Combat Correspondents Association Conference. All PA Directors and PA Chiefs are highly encouraged to attend this unit-funded conference, which will focus on the USMC Public Affairs Strategic Plan and relevant briefings for the PA occupational field.

1. THE DIVISION OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS WILL HOST A MARINE CORPS PUBLIC AFFAIRS LEADERS CONFERENCE AT THE CIRCUS-CIRCUS HOTEL IN RENO NEVADA FROM 23-26 AUG 2005. THE CONFERENCE IS BEING HELD TO COINCIDE WITH THE ANNUAL U.S. MARINE CORPS COMBAT CORRESPONDENTS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE (USMCCCA). USMCCCA CONFERENCE INFORMATION WILL BE SENT VIA SEPCOR; POC AT DIVPA FOR USMCCCA CONFERENCE IS MGYSGT AL MOORE. 2. THE USMC PA LEADERS CONFERENCE AGENDA WILL CENTER AROUND THE CURRENT USMC PUBLIC AFFAIRS STRATEGIC PLAN ON DAY 1, AND BRIEFINGS, DISCUSSIONS AND GUEST SPEAKERS RELEVANT TO THE PA OCCUPATIONAL FIELD ON DAYS 2 THROUGH 4. THIS WILL RUN CONCURRENT WITH THE USMCCCA CONFERENCE. THE FINAL AGENDA WILL BE POSTED TO THE USMC PA INTRANET NO LATER THAN 1 AUG. 3. ALL PA DIRECTORS AND PA CHIEFS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THE USMC PA LEADERS CONFERENCE. THE NEXT SENIOR PA REP IS WELCOME TO ATTEND IN EVENT THAT PA DIRECTORS OR PA CHIEFS ARE DEPLOYED. PARTICIPATION IS UNIT FUNDED WITH GOVERNMENT CREDIT CARDS BEING USED FOR OFFICIAL TRAVEL. 4. CONFERENCE ATTIRE FROM 23-25 AUGUST IS BUSINESS CASUAL. CONFERENCE ATTIRE ON 26 AUGUST IS SERVICE C WITH RIBBONS AND GARRISON COVER. ACCEPTABLE CIVILIAN ATTIRE RANGES FROM DRESS TROUSERS WITH BELT AND COLLARED SHIRTS TO COAT AND TIE/SUIT. SHOES AND SOCKS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL CONFERENCE FUNCTIONS. SHORTS, BLUE JEANS AND SANDALS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. NAME TAGS WILL BE PROVIDED BY DIVPA AND MUST BE WORN DURING ALL OFFICIAL CONFERENCE FUNCTIONS. 5. THE USMCCCA AWARDS CEREMONY WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, 26 AUGUST STARTING AT 1130. THE APPOINTED PLACE OF DUTY FOR ALL USMC PA LEADERS CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS AT 1130, FRIDAY, 26 AUGUST IS THIS AWARDS CEREMONY. A LUNCHEON IN HONOR OF THE AWARDEES WILL BE HELD IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE CEREMONY, AND PARTICIPANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND. 6. RECOMMEND PARTICIPANTS ARRIVE THE AFTERNOON OF 22 AUG AS THE CONFERENCE WILL COMMENCE PROMPTLY AT 0730, 23 AUG. THE USMC PA LEADERS CONFERENCE ENDS AT 1300 ON FRIDAY, 26 AUG.
