This MARADMIN announces an opportunity to serve as Assistant Drum Major for the United States Marine Band at Marine Barracks Washington. Staff Sergeants and Gunnery Sergeants with MOS 55XX are invited to apply by submitting a comprehensive package including videos of drum majoring and conducting. Application packages are due by July 8, 2024, with in-person auditions scheduled for September 11-13, 2024.

1. This message announces the opportunity to serve as the Assistant Drum Major, U.S. Marine Band, Marine Barracks Washington. 2. Applicant requirements: 2.a. Possess MOS 55XX. 2.b. Be a Staff Sergeant or a Gunnery Sergeant. 2.c. Be a graduate of the Music Unit Leader Course (CID N0355L2) upon execution of orders to MCC W44. 3. Applicant package requirements: 3.a. Copy of BIR. 3.b. Copy of BTR. 3.c. Current resume. 3.d. Letter of recommendation from a Band Officer (PMOS 5502) or senior enlisted acting as a Band Officer. 3.e. Video of applicant drum majoring a band through a Sound Off and a Pass in Review. Video does not need to be from an actual ceremony, may be from a rehearsal setting. 3.f. Video of applicant conducting the National Anthem and one march of their choice from the podium. 4. Packages will be submitted to Operations Chief, U.S. Marine Band, at steven.f.williams1@usmc.mil no later than 2359 EST 8 July 2024.
