Solicitation for Nominations to the Fiscal Year 2026 Commandant's Professional Reading List

1.  Situation.  The Commandant's Professional Reading <br>
List (CPRL) is an essential tool for cultivating intellectual <br>
readiness, professional development, and ethical leadership across <br>
the Marine Corps.  It supports the development of leaders who are <br>
capable of meeting the evolving challenges of strategic competition, <br>
warfighting, and institutional leadership.  To ensure continued <br>
relevance and value, the CPRL is periodically updated.  This message <br>
initiates the fiscal year (FY) 2026 update.  Coinciding with the <br>
250th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps, this update <br>
offers a timely opportunity to both honor the legacy of the Corps and <br>
invest in the intellectual development of Marines who will carry it <br>
forward into the next era.<br>
2.  Mission.  Education Command will conduct a force-wide <br>
solicitation for nominations of books, professional publications, and<br>
podcasts to inform the next update of the Commandant's Professional <br>
Reading List.  The intent is to gather diverse, high-quality <br>
recommendations that contribute meaningfully to personal and <br>
professional development for Marines at all ranks.<br>
3. Execution<br>
3.A. Commander's Intent.  <br>
The Commandant's intent is to maintain a dynamic and <br>
thought-provoking reading list that educates and inspires Marines <br>
while reinforcing warfighting excellence, innovation, ethical <br>
decision-making, and strategic awareness.  Marines from all <br>
communities and ranks will have an opportunity to shape this list to <br>
reflect the broad experiences and intellectual interests of the <br>
force.<br>
3.B. Concept of Operations<br>
3.B.1. This MARADMIN serves as a call for nominations across the <br>
total force.<br>
3.B.2. Marines may nominate books (fiction or nonfiction), <br>
academic publications, and audio media such as podcasts.<br>
3.B.3.A. Each submission must include the following:<br>
3.B.3.A.1. Title<br>
3.B.3.A.2. One of the following categories: Heritage, Innovation, <br>
Leadership, Strategy<br>
3.B.3.A.3. Author/Host/Publisher<br>
3.B.3.A.4. Media Type (book, podcast, periodical, etc…)<br>
3.B.3.A.5. Intended Audience (e.g., junior enlisted, SNCOs, officers, <br>
all hands)<br>
3.B.3.A.6. A brief justification (no more than 250 words) explaining <br>
the resource's value to Marines.<br>
3.C. Coordinating Instructions<br>
3.C.1. Submissions are due no later than 14 July 2025.<br>

3.C.3. A review panel will evaluate submissions and provide <br>
recommendations to senior leaders prior to the Commandant's <br>
review for final selection.<br>
3.C.4. The updated CPRL will be released in November, 2025.<br>
4. Command and Signal. Commanders are directed to disseminate this <br>
message widely and encourage participation. Broad engagement is <br>
critical to ensuring the updated CRL reflects the values, <br>
experiences, and intellectual diversity of the Marine Corps.<br>
