Call for Participation in the 2022 Virtual Society of American Indian Government Employees National Training Program
This MARADMIN announces the 2022 virtual Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE) National Training Program, scheduled for June 21-23, 2022. The Marine Corps Manpower and Reserve Affairs will sponsor 20 conference registration fees for Marines and civilian Marines to participate in this professional development and leadership training program focused on American Indian and Alaska Native government employees.

1. The 2022 virtual Society of American Indian Government Employees (SAIGE) 20th annual National Training Program (NTP) will be held from 21 – 23 June 2022. Manpower and Reserve Affairs' (M&RA) Opportunity, Diversity, and Inclusion Branch (MPE) will sponsor 20 conference registration fees for this event. 2. SAIGE is a non-profit organization representing American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Federal, Tribal, State, and local government employees. SAIGE provides a forum on the issues, challenges, and opportunities of AI/ANs in the government workforce(including Tribal governments) and works to foster a professional network among AI/AN government employees. SAIGE is hosting an annual National Training Program focused on professional development and leadership. Additionally, cultural events will be presented by local native peoples. Commanders may authorize Permissive Temporary Additional Duty for Marines and Sailors attached to their units to allow virtual participation in an environment without distractions. Commanders/supervisors may also approve civilian Marine participation in an environment without distractions. All Marine Corps registration fees must be coordinated through MPE. 4. Requests to participate in this event should be emailed to the group mailbox MPE_Outreach@usmc.mil, Marc Sheppard (marc.sheppard@usmc.mil), and Staff Sergeant Anthony Quinones (anthony.quinones@usmc.mil) via your Officer-in-Charge and include the following information: name, rank, unit, email, and duty station. 5. The uniform of the day for the event is Service "C" for any attendee broadcasting images or video in the course of their participation. 6. SAIGE is a non-federal entity wholly independent of the Marine Corps. 7. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force. 8. Release authorized by BGen A. T.
