Fiscal Year 2023 Marine Corps Language Professional of the Year and Command Language Program of the Year Award Winners

1. Purpose.  The Marine Corps Foreign Language Program is pleased to announce Sergeant Zachary D. Finley (PMOS 2641), Marine Cryptologic Support Battalion (MCSB), as the Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23) Marine Corps Language Professional of the Year (LPoY), and 2d Radio Battalion as the FY23 Marine Corps Command Language Program of the Year (CLPoY).
2.  Background.  The LPoY and CLPoY awards recognize the contributions of Marine Corps language professional and language capable Marines and Command Language Programs during FY23.  A panel of senior language and intelligence professionals selected Sgt Finley and 2d Radio Battalion from a group of highly competitive nominees from across the total force.  Both awardees will advance to compete for the FY23 Department of Defense (DoD) Language Professional of the Year and Command Language Program of the Year.
3.  Execution.  Sgt Finley and 2d Radio Battalion will be recognized at this year's DoD Advanced Command Language Program Manager Workshop in Monterey, CA, from 10-12 September 2024.  Additionally, the Marine Corps LPoY awardee and CLPoY awardee representative will each present a 10-15 minute "best practices" brief to their colleagues during the event.
