FY24 2nd Semi-Annual Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Meritorious Promotions
This MARADMIN announces the FY24 2nd Semi-Annual Special Duty Assignment (SDA) Meritorious Promotions for Marines serving in special duty assignments such as recruiters and security forces. The message authorizes the promotion of selected Marines to the ranks of Gunnery Sergeant and Staff Sergeant with an effective date of rank of 2 July 2024, and includes a complete list of all Marines selected for promotion.

1. In accordance with the provisions of references (a) through (d), authority is granted to meritoriously promote the Marines listed below with a date of rank and effective date of 2 July 2024 in accordance with references (e) through (h). Upon receipt of this Marine Administrative Message (MARADMIN), but not prior to 2 July 2024, Commanders will effect the promotion of selected Marines per paragraph 5100 of reference (a). Per reference (b), effective July 2020, Marines who are selected to the ranks of SSgt through SgtMaj/MGySgt, to include meritorious promotions, must have at least 24-months of OBS remaining on contract beginning on the date of their promotion. Marines should work with their Career Planner to gain OBS as soon as possible to avoid promotion delays.<br> 3.b. This MARADMIN gives commanders the authority to locally extend Marines immediately, who are identified as not being in compliance with OBS requirements.<br> 3.c. Commanding Officers are not authorized to extend those Marines with draw case code (DCC) of AF, AH, AX, or AY. Marines with those DCCs must submit their extension to MMEA (HQMC) via the Total Force Retention System (TFRS).<br> 3.d. Marines in a medical status, to include limited duty or pending evaluation by a PEB, and meet all other requirements are eligible for promotion without an extension.<br> 3.e. Marines who do not comply with OBS requirements prior to 2 July 2024 are not authorized to be promoted and Commands must inform MMPB-11 if a Marine refuses to extend or reenlist. <br> 4.
