Fiscal Year 2024 Competition-in-Arms Program

This MARADMIN announces the Fiscal Year 2024 Competition-In-Arms Program (CIAP), featuring five regional Marine Corps Marksmanship Competitions and the Marine Corps Championships from October 2023 through April 2024. The program provides Marines with advanced marksmanship training in rifle and pistol disciplines, including individual and team competitions, tracked mobile target engagement, and night vision device techniques. Each competition consists of 10 training days over a 2-week period at various Marine Corps installations.

1.  Purpose.  To announce the Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Competition-In-Arms Program (CIAP) regional Marine Corps Marksmanship Competitions (MCMC) and Marine Corps Championships.<br>
2.  Background.  The primary objective of the CIAP is to stimulate interest and desire for self-improvement in marksmanship and to enhance proficiency within the Marine Corps in the use of individual small arms by refining precision marksmanship skills and combat marksmanship skills through advanced marksmanship training and competition.  MCMCs provide an opportunity to refine the fundamental skills that make a Marine lethal on the battlefield and able to deliver lethal force in a dynamic environment in accordance with the Marine Corps Rifle Marksmanship Lethality Capabilities-Based Assessment.<br>
2.a.  The Marine Corps Shooting Team (MCST) coordinates and facilitates five regional marksmanship competitions.  These are held annually at:  Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico, National Capital Region (NCR); Camp Butler, Far East; MCB Hawaii, Pacific; Camp Pendleton, West; and Camp Lejeune, East.  The Marine Corps Championship Match is held at MCB Quantico.  The MCMCs will consist of 10 total training days over a 2-week period.  Marines who participate in the FY24 CIAP will receive advanced marksmanship instruction, individual rifle and pistol competition, and team rifle and pistol competition.  In addition to receiving advanced marksmanship training within the action shooting rifle and pistol disciplines, Marines attending the regional MCMCs will have the opportunity to learn to accurately engage Tracked Mobile Infantry Targets as well as night vision device marksmanship techniques.<br>

5.  Coordinating Instructions<br>
5.a.  The MCST will continue to post updated information on its social media accounts:  Facebook, USMC Shooting Team; Instagram, usmcshootingteam.<br>
6.  The Small Arms Marksmanship Competition order, MCO 3591.2L, is currently in final review before signature.  This order will serve as the foundation of planning, awards issuance, and team construct.  The MCST has also developed an Action Shooting Rule Book to ensure all MCMCs are fair, safe, and consistent.  Questions concerning how a MCMC will be evaluated should be directed to the point of contacts listed in this message.<br>
