Communication Directorate Visual Information Volume Working Group Calling Message

This MARADMIN announces a Communication Directorate Visual Information Volume Working Group to be held 10-14 July 2023 at Defense Media Activity, Fort Meade, MD. The working group will bring together specific COMMSTRAT Marines from various commands to develop an O6-level draft of a Marine Corps Visual Information Volume that will be nested under a new COMMSTRAT Marine Corps Order. Eleven by-name participants from MEFs, MARFORPAC, MARSYSCOM, and other commands are requested to attend.

1. This calling message provides information for Communication Directorate (CD) Visual Information (VI) Volume Working Group (WG) to be held 10-14 July 2023.<br>
2.  These events will be hosted by the Communication Strategy and Operations (COMMSTRAT) OCCFLD Manager, Director of Communication, CD, Headquarters Marine Corps.<br>
3.  Purpose<br>
3.A. The CD VI WG, held 10-14 July 2023, is a group of COMMSTRAT Marines to develop an O6-Level draft of a Marine Corps VI Volume that will be nested under a new COMMSTRAT Marine Corps Order with Volumes.<br>
4. CD VI Volume WG Participants. To effectively support the VI Volume WG, the following commands are requested to send these by-name Marines within their commands:<br>

5. Coordinating Instructions<br>
5.A.  The uniform for Marines is woodland MARPAT and business attire for civilians.<br>
5.B.  Location. The WG will be held at the Defense Media Activity, 6700 Taylor Avenue, Fort George G. Meade, MD 20755.<br>
5.C.  Travel.  Authorized travel days for overseas travelers will be 8 July 2023 and 15 July 2023. CONUS travelers will be 9 July 2023 and 14 July 2023. CD will fund all travel expenses except for rental cars.<br>
5.D. Lodging. Lodging has been reserved at the Candlewood located at 4690 Cooper Ave., Bldg 4690, Fort George G. Meade, MD. Rooms have been reserved for each WG participant at a rate of $114 per night.<br>
5.E.  Attendees and commands must comply with MCO 4600.40b concerning the government travel charge card program.  Travel participants must contact Mrs. Brigette White-Bailey, administrative officer for CD, to conduct a cross-org for Defense Travel System authorization and voucher processing.<br>
5.F.  Cell phones and computers are authorized, and WiFi will be available. Participants must bring their issued computers.<br>
5.G.  Reporting costs. CD is required to collect and submit actual cost information.  Request organizations sending representatives to the WG provide total costs for their respective attendees via email to HQMC_45XX_PROPONENT@usmc.mil no later than 30 June 2023.<br>
5.H.  Participants' questions related to the WG should be sent to the CD OCCFLD POCS listed above.  Finalized agenda will be provided to confirmed attendees no later 30 June 2023.<br>
