2017 Force Preservation Symposium

This MARADMIN announces the 2017 Force Preservation Symposium (FPS-17) to be held 25-26 July 2017 at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Arlington, VA. The symposium will bring together fleet and headquarters G-10 offices and stakeholders to collaborate on Marine Corps force preservation matters. Multiple organizations including MEF G-10 offices, MARFORCOM, MARFORPAC, MARFORRES, and various support agencies are requested to attend.

1.  The Executive Director, HQMC Force Preservation Directorate (G-10) will host the 2017 Force Preservation Symposium (FPS-17) from 25 to 26 July 2017 at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, Arlington, VA.  The purpose of the symposium is to bring together fleet and headquarters G-10 offices and associated stakeholders to collaborate and synchronize efforts on Marine Corps force preservation matters.  Travel days are 24 and 27 July 2017, as applicable, with a no-host social on the evening of 25 July 2017.<br>

3.  The Force Preservation Directorate (FPD) office will oversee all staff coordination for FPS-17, to include social event coordination, and is the information releasing authority for FPS-17.  In addition, the FPD staff is responsible for logistical, administrative, and operations support FPS-17.  Points of contact (POC) for the FPD are referenced above.<br>
4.  Admin.  Administrative, logistics, and other information to facilitate lodging, transportation, and any special needs requests will be sent via SEPCOR.<br>
4A.  Orders.  Individual commands will issue orders for their attendees.  All orders should be non-reporting.  Government quarters and messing are not available.<br>
4B.  Locations.  FPS-17 will be held at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall, 1555 South Southgate Rd, Arlington, VA, 22214.<br>
4C.  Transportation.  Government transportation is not authorized from/to commercial airports.  Recommend arrival at Reagan National Airport (closest to the symposium site).<br>
4D.  Uniforms.  The required uniform for military attendees is woodland MARPAT, sleeves up.  The required uniform for civilian attendees is business casual.<br>
4E.  Weather.  The average temperatures for the Washington, DC area in July are 88 degrees (hi) and 70 (low), with humidity around 67 percent.  The area averages approximately 3.7 inches of rain in July.<br>
