2018 Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month

This MARADMIN recognizes June as LGBT Pride Month and encourages Marine Corps commanders to acknowledge the observance and promote participation in related events. The message reaffirms the Marine Corps' commitment to treating all personnel with dignity and respect in an environment free from barriers that prevent individuals from reaching their full potential.

1.  Purpose.  LGBT Pride Month is celebrated each year during the month of June.
2.  Background.  The Marine Corps is committed to living the values we defend, treating everyone equitably, and with dignity and respect.  The Marine Corps is committed to promoting an environment free from personal, social, or institutional barriers that prevent its workforce from rising to the highest level of responsibility possible.  Therefore, commanders are encouraged to take time to recognize the 2018 LGBT Pride Month and to promote participation in observance events both on base and in the local community.
