Availability of MCO 5600.20R, Marine Corps Doctrinal Publications System

This MARADMIN announces the publication of MCO 5600.20R, Marine Corps Doctrinal Publications System, dated 18 June 2018, which supersedes the previous version from 2006. The updated order clarifies doctrine policy, duties and responsibilities, coordination terms, and introduces definitions for training circulars and other doctrine publications. It is applicable to the entire Marine Corps total force.

1.  The Deputy Commandant, Combat Development and Integration, has published MCO 5600.20R, Marine Corps Doctrinal Publications System, dated 18 June 2018. 2.  Background.<br>
    (a) Reference (a) was signed in November 2006 and needed revision.  MCO 5600.20R supersedes reference (a).<br>
    (b) MCO 5600.20R updates doctrine policy, clarifies doctrinal duties and responsibilities, clarifies terms used in doctrine for doctrine coordination, provides general definitions of the types of Service doctrine publications in the doctrine hierarchy, introduces and provides a definition for non-doctrinal Marine Corps training circulars, and discusses other doctrine authorized for the Marine Corps.<br>
3.  Coordinating instructions.  MCO 5600.20R will be used to guide units in their doctrinal roles and responsibilities.<br>
4.  This MARADMIN is applicable to Marine Corps total force.<br>
