Announcement of the Fiscal Year 2025 Air Force Senior Enlisted Academy Course Dates
This MARADMIN announces the Fiscal Year 2025 course dates for the Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA) at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama, with six five-week courses running from October 2024 through September 2025. The Marine Corps has been allocated five seats per class, distributed among the major Marine Forces (MARFORs), for eligible Master Sergeants and First Sergeants who have completed required PME. Nominations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through MARFOR G-3s to the Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Academy.

1. Situation. Joint-service professional development opportunities for enlisted Marines are limited. However, Marine Corps University, with assistance from the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, has established a long-term relationship with the United States Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy (AFSNCOA) resulting in a limited number of seats for eligible Marine Corps students. This academy is located at Gunter Annex, Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB), Alabama. The AFSNCOA is an intensive five-week course comprised of the following core areas: Senior enlisted leader organizational leadership environments, national, military, and air power strategy, and integrated deterrence and strategic competition. During the course, students will be required to read, write extensively, and publicly speak. 2. Mission. The Deputy Director, Marine Corps Senior Enlisted Academy (MCSEA) will manage the quotas and coordinate the attendance of qualified Marines to the AFSNCOA. 3. Execution. Due to limited allocations, each Marine Corps Force (MARFOR) G-3 may submit nominations as they are approved by commands. The Marine Corps has five allocations per class. MARFOR G-3 will submit packages to MCSEA on a first come, first served basis, provided they meet the standard for approval. Do not contact the AFSNCOA staff to obtain a school seat. Allocations are strictly coordinated between MCSEA and the AFSNCOA staff only. 3.A.1 Each MARFOR will have one allocation per class. MARFORCOM (1) MARFORPAC (1) MARFORRES (1) TECOM (1) MCICOM (1) 3.A.2. If a Marine is outside one of the above commands, send nomination to the Deputy Director MCSEA for consideration. 3.B. Funding is available through Training and Education Command (TECOM) Worldwide Travel (WWT). MCSEA will coordinate student funding for the course through TECOM. The student's parent command is responsible for rental car funding if approved at the unit level. 3.C. The MARFOR shall nominate Marines in the rank of master sergeant or first sergeant to attend the course. 3.D. Course Prerequisites. 3.D.1. Nominees must have completed the Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education II (57x). Nominated First Sergeants and Master Sergeants must be PME complete for grade, which must be reflected in the Marine's record. Nominees with an approved or pending retirement date are not eligible to apply. It is the MARFOR's responsibility to ensure the nominees meet all prerequisites. 4. Administration and Logistics. 4.A. The following information must be submitted for consideration of attendance at the AFSNCOA: 4.A.1. Course number. 4.A.2. Last name, first name, middle initial, Electronic Data Interchange Personal Identifier, and Military Occupational Specialty. 4.A.3. Grade and date of rank. 4.A.4. Submit a professional resume. The Basic Training Record will be submitted to provide additional information. 4.B. MCSEA Operations will manage student registration with AFSNCOA. 4.D. Lodging. All attendees are required to stay in on-base lodging at the Bachelor Enlisted Quarters, Gunter Annex, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. 4.E. Reporting. All approved students will check-in on the respective report date to the lodging office at Gunter Annex, Building 1017, Maxwell AFB, Alabama.
