Fiscal Year 2020 Transition Conversion Board Results

This MARADMIN announces the results of the Fiscal Year 2020 Transition Conversion Board for Marine Naval Aviators. Fifteen primary candidates and three alternates have been selected for transition conversion training to F-35, MV-22, KC-130, and NFO to SNA programs. Primary selectees must accept or decline their selection within 30 days of the message release date.

2.  Information regarding new assignment and order can be obtained from the aviation monitors (MMOA-2), DSN 278-9267 or (703) 784-9267.<br>
3.  Applicants not selected by this board can anticipate the FY21 Transition Conversion board to be announced Feb 2020 via MARADMIN.  Non-select application packages for the FY20 Transition Conversion will not be valid for future Transition Conversion boards.  Each board is based on the needs of the Marine Corps and is unique in selection numbers and precept criteria.<br>
4.  F-35 Field Conversion Assignments (MMOA)<br>
4.a.  HQMC Aviation F-35 Squadron Transition policy letter, dated 30 July 2017, introduced various methods for transitioning legacy pilots to the F-35 subsequently authorizing "F-35 Field Conversions". F-35 Field Conversion is an assignments-based process managed by MMOA that will allow current TACAIR aviators to be considered for F-35 conversion, and provide the flexibility for MMOA to balance legacy assignment requirements throughout squadron transition timelines.<br>
4.b.  MMOA will introduce F-35 Field Conversion assignments during the FY20 move cycle.  F-35 Field Conversion assignments will be made as FRS capacities allow.  Contact MMOA-2 for more details.<br>
4.c.  Marines considered by the FY20 Transition/Conversion board, and not selected as primary candidates, will be subsequently considered in the Field Conversion process.<br>
5.  All primary selects are required to accept or decline their selection via their respective monitor by email no later than 30 days from the release of this message.  Declination letters are required to have general officer endorsement.  For the NFO to SNA candidate, upon acceptance, the candidate will sign a student naval aviator service agreement for 96 months of obligated service from the date of successful completion of flight training and designation as a Naval aviator.<br>
