2022 Expeditionary Warfare Excellence Awards Recipients
This MARADMIN announces the four recipients of the 2022 Expeditionary Warfare Excellence Awards, recognizing top-performing Marines and Sailors during calendar year 2021. The winners include Major Michael Herendeen, Gunnery Sergeant Brian Sharp, Lieutenant Monica Dimaggio, and Chief Petty Officer Michael Taylor, who will be honored at the Marine Corps Combat Development Dinner on August 25, 2022, at Quantico, Virginia.

1. The Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration, and the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Warfighting Requirements and Capabilities are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2022 Expeditionary Warfare Excellence Awards (EWEA). This award recognizes the achievement of the Naval service's top performing Marines and Sailors during the calendar year 2021. Each category was highly competitive and indicative of the nominee's exceptional leadership and selfless dedication to mission accomplishment.<br> 2. 2022 EWEA Winners:<br> 2.a. The Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare Officer of the Year is Major Michael Herendeen, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade.<br> 2.b. The Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare Staff Non-commissioned Officer of the year is Gunnery Sergeant Brian Sharp, 4th Marine Regiment.<br> 2.c. The Navy Expeditionary Warfare Officer of the Year is Lieutenant Monica Dimaggio, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade.<br> 2.d. The Navy Expeditionary Warfare Enlisted Sailor of the Year is Chief Petty Officer Michael Taylor, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade.<br> 3. The award winners will be recognized at the Marine Corps Combat Development Dinner, hosted by the Marine Corps Association, on 25 August 2022 at The Clubs at Quantico, 3017 Russell Road, Quantico, VA, 22134. A no-host reception will begin at 1800, with dinner and the ceremony beginning at 1900. Even attire is business or cocktail attire for civilian and military attendees. Awardees and service members participating in the ceremony will wear Service Alphas or equivalent.<br> 4.
