Call for Participation in the 21st Annual National Latina Symposium
This MARADMIN announces the 21st Annual National LATINA Symposium on 19 September 2024 in Arlington, Virginia, which brings together accomplished Hispanic women to discuss the status of Latina professional women in the United States. Headquarters Marine Corps will sponsor registration fees and travel expenses for 25 participants who must submit command-endorsed applications by 2 September 2024.

1. The 2024 National LATINA Symposium, hosted by LATINA Style, Incorporated, will be held on 19 September 2024 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Richmond Highway, Arlington, Virginia. 2. The National LATINA Symposium brings together some of the most accomplished Hispanic women in the nation. The goal of the symposium is to ascertain through round-table discussions, presentations, and in-depth surveys, the status of the Latina professional working woman in the United States. LATINA Style also provides information and resources for career and personal development. LATINA Style, Incorporated is a non-federal entity wholly independent of the Marine Corps. During the symposium, attendees will benefit from discussions with senior Latina military leaders focusing on career development, military transition, and other impactful issues related to Latinas serving in uniform. 4. Headquarters, United States Marine Corps, Manpower Plans and Policy Division (MP) will sponsor 25 conference registration fees and travel expenses for those in a temporary additional duty status and local travelers for this event. MP will fund travel for three days with the authorized travel days being 18 September and 20 September 2024. Lodging reimbursement is limited to the government rate and the traveler must utilize the Integrated Lodging Program as applicable. Commands may authorize rental cars using unit funds. 5. Participants require command endorsement before applying for sponsored attendance and being approved by MP for funding. The command endorsement must be submitted with the sponsorship application. Individuals who submit a sponsorship application will receive an email from MPE with coordinating instructions on the status of their application after the application window closes. Sponsorship applications must be completed no later than 2 September 2024. Attendees must have a non-delinquent government travel charge card in their possession and a DTS profile joined to their respective unit. 6. Reserve Marines within the selected reserve require approval from the first O-5 commander in their chain of command to be considered for participation. Reserve commands are required to attach their Marines to their unit while attending the conference using command funding. MP will fund their registration and all travel expenses during the traveling period of the conference. 7. Uniform of the day for this event is Service "C" for Marines, Service Khakis for Sailors, and business casual for Civilian Marines. 8. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Marine Corps Total Force. 9.
