2021 Expeditionary Warfare Excellence Awards (EWEA) Board Results

This MARADMIN announces the results of the FY20 Expeditionary Warfare Excellence Awards (EWEA), recognizing top-performing Marines and Sailors in four categories. Award winners will be honored at the Marine Corps Combat Development Dinner hosted by the Marine Corps Association on 26 August 2021 at The Clubs in Quantico, Virginia.

1.  The Deputy Command for Combat Development and Integration (DC, CD&I), and the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Warfighting requirements and Capabilities (DCNO, N9) are pleased to announce the results for the FY20 Expeditionary Warfare Excellence Awards (EWEA).  This event recognizes the achievement of the Naval service's top performing Marines and Sailors during the 2020 fiscal year.  Each category was highly competitive, indicating exceptional leadership and selfless dedication to mission accomplishment for all nominees.  Award winners will be recognized at the Marine Corps Combat Development Dinner hosted by the Marine Corps Association (MCA).<br>
2.  FY20 EWEA Winners:<br>
2.a.  The Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare Officer of the Year is Major Brian A. Kerg, C5I Operations Division, US Fleet Forces Command.<br>
2.b.  The Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare Staff Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year is Staff Sergeant Gerad K. Patton, Marine Air Control Group 38 Detachment, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 164 (Reinforce), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.<br>
2.c.  The Navy Expeditionary Warfare Officer of the Year is Lieutenant Robert L. Harned, Task Force Ellis, I Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force.<br>
2.d.  The Navy Expeditionary Warfare Enlisted Sailor of the Year is Chief Petty Officer Curtis A. Broidy, Beachmaster Unit Two, Naval Beach Group Two.<br>
3.  All EWEA awardees are invited to attend the award ceremony, which will take place at the 2021 MCA Combat Development Dinner, held at The Clubs in Quantico, 3017 Russell Road, Quantico, VA 22134 on 26 August 2021.  A no-host reception hour will begin at 1800, with dinner and ceremony begin at 1900.  Event attire is business or cocktail attire for civilian attendees, service alphas or equivalent for awardees, and service members participating in the ceremony.<br>
4.  Travel and a schedule of events for award winners will be issued via separate correspondence.<br>
5.  Congratulations to those selected and all who were nominated.  Your performance in a vital area is commendable and has directly influenced the Naval Communities.<br>
