Announcement of the FY22 First Sergeant and Master Sergeant Regional Seminar Dates

This MARADMIN announces the FY22 First Sergeant and Master Sergeant Regional Seminar dates at five locations (MCB Quantico, Camp Lejeune, Camp Pendleton, MCB Hawaii, and Camp Hansen, Okinawa) from November 2021 through September 2022. The seminars provide First Sergeants and Master Sergeants with professional development through briefs on operations, personnel, leadership, and current Marine Corps initiatives. Units must submit nominations through their Marine Forces (MARFOR) representative via MCTIMS no later than 45 days prior to the seminar reporting date.

1.  Situation.  This Marine Administrative Message announces the Fiscal Year 2022 dates for the First Sergeant and Master Sergeant Regional Seminars.  The First Sergeant and Master Sergeant Regional Seminars will be hosted by the regional Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academies (SNCOA) located at Marine Corps Base (MCB) Quantico, VA, Camp Lejeune, NC, Camp Pendleton, CA, MCB Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, and MCB Hawaii.  Attendees will gain a unique perspective on current issues through interaction with key personnel and their peers.  Seminars will include briefs on the following areas:  operations, personnel, leadership, training, joint operations, regional trends, and ongoing initiatives within our Corps.  New to this year, attendees will be required to enroll through the Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS) per paragraph 3.a.1.  Attendees will not be allowed to enroll by corresponding directly with an academy.<br>
2.  Mission.  SNCOAs will sponsor the First Sergeant and Master Sergeant Regional Seminars at the locations and dates indicated in paragraph 3.<br>

3.a.  Seminar Registration<br>
3.a.1.  Units must submit their nominations through their respective Marine Forces (MARFOR) representative for registration in Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS).  All nominations, regardless of location, must be received by the respective MARFOR representative no later than 45 days prior to the school reporting date.<br>
3.a.2.  Students who have been registered in MCTIMS, and are unable to attend a scheduled school, must cancel their registration within the MCTIMS student module.  Canceling a student's registration is the unit S-3/G-3 responsibility and shall be coordinated with their respective MARFOR representative.<br>
3.b.  Attendees must be First Sergeants or Master Sergeants or selectees (Active or Reserve) who have not previously attended.<br>
3.c.  All attendees will report to the designated seminar no later than 0730 on the respective seminar convene date.<br>
4.  Administration and Logistics<br>
4.a.  Lodging, travel arrangements, and rental vehicles are the responsibility of the Marine's parent command and will be in accordance with the most current Joint Travel Regulation.<br>
4.b.  Funded, non-reporting orders are the responsibility of the Marine's parent command.  Indicate on orders that government  quarters and messing are not available.<br>
4.c.  A conference fee is required to be paid by seminar attendees.  This fee is nonrefundable and is not reimbursable through the Defense Travel System.  Separate correspondence will be disseminated by the host SNCOA to all registered attendees prior to the commencement of the seminar regarding conference fees.<br>
4.d.  Uniform Requirements:  The uniform for the seminar is the Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform and appropriate seasonal service uniform.  Additionally, appropriate civilian attire, i.e., coat and tie (males) and dress or suit (females) is required for the professional dinner.  The host academy may disseminate additional uniform requirements prior to the commencement of the respective seminars.<br>
