Call for Participation in the 2018 Blacks in Government National Training Institute

This MARADMIN announces the 2018 Blacks in Government (BIG) National Training Institute, taking place August 13-16, 2018, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside in New Orleans, Louisiana. The institute provides training and development in various subject areas including technology, healthcare, equal employment opportunity, and financial management. HQMC will sponsor a limited number of participants on a first-come, first-served basis, covering conference fees and travel expenses for approved attendees from the Marine Corps Total Force.

1. This MARADMIN announces the 2018 Blacks in Government (BIG) National Training Institute from 13-16 August 2018 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, located at Two Poydras Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70140.<br>
2.  The Blacks in Government (BIG) National Training Institute (NTI) is a nationwide response to train and develop individuals into subject-matter experts, in order to perform the critical tasks of providing services to the general public.  Areas of training include technology, health care, science, equal employment opportunity, acquisition, financial management, project management, retirement planning, homeland security, and many other service-based functions necessary for the general welfare of the citizenry, and inclusive of programs and benefits.<br>
3.  Subject to conference approval, CMC (MPE) will sponsor a limited number of conference/registration fees and all travel expenses.  Commanders may authorize Temporary Additional Duty for Marines, civilian Marines and Sailors who are attached to Marine units to attend.  Local travel is authorized for members in the local area.  All Marine Corps funded participation will be coordinated through the HQMC M and RA Equal Opportunity and Diversity Management (MPE) Branch.  Reservations will be given on a first-come first-served basis. Rental cars are not authorized and commands may not use command funding for rental cars.<br>
