United States Naval Academy Slating for Fiscal Year 2023 (FY23)

This MARADMIN announces the selection process for Marine Corps officers to fill staff positions at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) and Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) during Fiscal Year 2023. Officers meeting time-on-station and grade requirements must obtain approval from their Primary MOS monitor and submit applications by 30 September 2022, with selections to be announced in November/December 2022.

1.  The assignment of officers to the United States Naval Academy (USNA) requires high caliber individuals for positions that support the accession of junior officers into the Naval service.  During the month of October 2022, a panel comprised of staff from MMOA and USNA will select officers for assignment to billet vacancies during FY23.<br>
2.  Eligibility requirements<br>
2.a.  Time on station (TOS).  Officers who will complete the prescribed tour, on their current set of orders, NLT 30 Sept 2023 are eligible.  If an officer does not meet this requirement, the officer must contact their primary MOS (PMOS) monitor to discuss waiver submission requirements.<br>
2.b.  Grade.  Officers who are promoted, selected, or in zone for the solicited billet grade requirements are eligible to apply.<br>
2.c.  Officers who meet the TOS and grade requirements must also have:<br>
2.c.1.  Excellent military appearance.<br>
2.c.2.  Consistent first class PFT and CFT.<br>
2.c.3.  PMOS credibility with demonstrated military proficiency.<br>
2.c.4.  No adverse material.<br>
2.c.5.  Career timing that supports a full 36-month tour at USNA.<br>
2.c.6.  Recent operational experience.<br>
3.  Application process<br>
3.a.  Interested officers must first contact their PMOS monitor for approval to screen on the panel for assignment to USNA.<br>
3.b.  Upon receipt of approval to screen by the PMOS monitor, officers are encouraged to visit https:(slash)(slash)www.usna.edu/USMC/index.php to download and submit the USNA staff application.  The approval correspondence from the PMOS monitor is a prerequisite for submission of the application.  If unable to download the application, contact the USNA POC listed below.<br>
3.c.  The deadline for application submission is 30 September 2022.<br>
4.  Projected FY23 billet vacancies:<br>
4.a.  USNA, Annapolis, MD.<br>
4.a.1.  8006, LtCol, Battalion Officer.  Serve in the Brigade of Midshipmen as the senior officer advisor to a midshipmen battalion.  Post-command LtCol is preferred.<br>
4.a.2.  8006, Maj, LEAD Division Deputy Director.  Serve as the Deputy Director for the Leadership and Ethics Division.  Intermediate Level School completion is preferred.<br>
4.a.3.  8006, Capt-Maj, Candidate Guidance Officer.  Serve on staff in the U.S. Naval Academy's Office of Admissions.<br>
4.a.4.  4402, Capt-Maj, Military Law Instructor.  Serve as an instructor within the Leadership, Ethics, and Law Division.<br>
4.a.5.  8006, Capt-Maj, Leadership and Ethics Instructor.  Serve as an instructor within the Leadership, Ethics, and Law Division.<br>
4.a.6.  8006, Capt-Maj, Economics Instructor.  Serve as an Economics Instructor in the Humanities and Social Sciences Division.  Masters of Business Administration or a masters degree in an economics related field of study is required.<br>
4.b.  Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS), Newport, RI.<br>
4.b.1.  8006, Capt, Company Officer.  Serve as the officer-in-charge of a midshipman candidate company.<br>
5.  MMOA will release a results MARADMIN in November/December 2022.<br>
