Announcement of the 44th Executive Safety Board
This MARADMIN announces the 44th Executive Safety Board (ESB) scheduled for September 26, 2023, from 1600-1800 EDT. The board, chaired by the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, will convene senior Marine Corps leadership to discuss safety culture, service-wide safety initiatives, recent mishaps, and lessons learned across five key topic areas including the Safety Management System, ground unit safety development, safety assessments, funding, and tactical vehicles.

1. The 44th Executive Safety Board (ESB) will convene on 26 September 2023 from 1600-1800 (EDT, UTC-4) to discuss the safety culture within the Marine Corps, as well as current and future service-wide safety initiatives. 2. The Safety Division (SD) will provide Executive Safety Board (ESB) location, SVTC information, and other coordinating instructions via separate correspondence to participating organizations. 3. As the Marine Corps' senior safety officer, the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps will chair the board. The Director, Headquarters Marine Corps (HQMC) SD will act as the recorder, lead the presentations, provide updates on recent mishaps, and review lessons learned and potential trends. ESB members will be provided information on five topics: 3.a. Status and health of the Safety Management System 3.b. Ground unit Department of Safety and Standardization Development 3.c. Safety Assessments 3.d. Safety Funding 3.e. Tactical Vehicles 4. The adjunct (non-voting) members of the ESB are the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Installations, Energy and Facilities) and the Commander, Naval Safety Command. 6.
